Reebok has shared some really exciting news with us and they’ve just announced the official reintroduction of one of its most historically disruptive heritage on-court models, the Reebok Kamikaze II OG.

The Reebok Kamikaze II made its original debut way back in 1995 as the updated version of Shawn Kemp’s iconic signature shoe, the Kamikaze. Designed to match the unprecedented on-court energy of Kemp, the Kamikaze II was built atop a first-of-its kind Hexalite cushioning that enabled superior lightweight bounce, while its mid-cut design and full-grain leather upper aided in support and brought together a unique and stylish Black, Green and White color scheme nodding Kemp’s first pro uniforms.

A product of Reebok’s ‘90s Mobius collection that united a range of styles under a common thematic geared toward pushing the boundaries of footwear design through visually disruptive colorways and eye-catching sidewall patterns, the silhouette spoke loudly among the brand’s many hard-to-miss basketball sneakers of the era.

Reenergized today – 25 years later – this release will come equipped with specs true to the original model. The Kamikaze II OG will find its home courtside in sport-style wardrobes for both longtime Reebok basketball fans and sport-inspired kids looking to block out the noise and create their own path. The Reebok Kamikaze II OG will make its debut globally beginning October 23 from Reebok.comFoot LockerChamps Sports, and DTLR, among other specialty retailers, for the retail price of $120.

Sidenote: Looking to the future, as Reebok continues to grow alongside the ever-evolving tapestry of global cultures in which it is so deeply rooted, the brand will formally rename the historic Kamikaze model. An official update regarding the name change will be provided in the coming weeks.
