Paul George is no longer a member of the Indiana Pacers. So don’t expect any more Blue and Yellow colorways of the PG 1 anytime soon. While we’re waiting for Blue and Orange Thunder-themed colorways of the Nike PG 1, Nike is set to drop this neutral version of the model dubbed the Nike PG 1 Checkmate.

The Nike PG 1 Checkmate comes in a White, Black, and Chrome color scheme said to be inspired by Paul George’s strategic mentality on-court. It features a full White-based upper with Black branding on the Nike Swoosh, tongues, and insoles. Adding to the aesthetics of the shoe is the 3M reflective Chrome hit on the back pull tabs and the icy translucent outsole. Simple but very versatile. The Nike PG 1 Checkmate will be releasing on July 29th at select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com. It will be followed by an August 5th release in North America. Retail is set at $110.
