Vans Slip-On

Above you will get an official look at the size? x Vans Slip-On New Wave. This new Slip-On collab between the two draws inspiration from David Byrne‘s Talking Heads. The Slip-On nods to a famous Talking Heads photoshoot and the release of 1979’s seminal Fear of Music, widely regarded as one of the best new wave albums of all time.

Opting for a bold aesthetic, the size? x Vans Slip-On New Wave comes with a printed upper along with patterns consisting of floral print on the forefoot, star graphics across the midfoot and collar and a potent pink paisley on the heel, all which pay tribute to the outfits the Heads wore during the aforementioned photoshoot. A small orange Vans tag on the midfoot adds a pop of additional color. A White vulcanized midsole, light blue foxing stripe and an orange heel badge. “03.08.1979” appears on the lateral side done in a tape-style graphic as a nod to Fear of Music‘s original launch date.

The size? x Vans Slip-On New Wave will release via the size? webstore, size? Previews app and all size? retail locations on March 21 for £65 GBP (approximately $80 USD).

Now up for grabs, here’s an official look at the Vans Origami Pack.

The Vans Origami Pack includes special iterations of the Vans Era and the Vans Slip-On. The inspiration is drawn from sculptural artworks as the classic silhouettes offer an abstract look by adding overlays and using unexpected materials.

The Vans Era has been remastered in two colorways. The first combines the iconic Checkerboard print with textured Black overlays. A second iteration of the Era juxtaposes color, material and texture. White suede uppers compliment oversized suede at the toe and heel. Atop the upper is an architectural Purple suede applique in an embossed crocodile pattern, and the abstract shoe is complete with a pink materialization on the heel.

The Vans Slip-On masterfully combines two most-loved colorways, black suede and Checkerboard, into a single design execution.

Retailing for $75, the Vans Origami Pack is available now on Vans.com.
