Nike Air Max 1

Nike has taken the “deconstructed” look made popular by Virgil Abloh and used it to create new silhouettes as well as apply it to some of their classics. Today we see that look applied to one of their most iconic silhouettes of all-time, the Nike Air Max 1. This Nike Air Max 1 comes covered in a combination of Pure Platinum, Summit White, Racer Blue, and Vast Grey all throughout the upper as the sneaker starts off with a canvas construction along with leather and suede overlays. Additional details include cut-out Swooshes, Racer blue accents on the upper eyelets and heel branding, a white midsole, and a light blue rubber outsole cap off the look on this Air Max 1 that can be scooped up at select Nike retailers now for $130.

Virgil Abloh’s deconstructed aesthetic became popularized with his Nike “The Ten” Collection, and the theme has continued on future releases by the Swoosh, evidenced by this Nike Air Max 1 Inside Out. Colored in varying tones of grey, the retro runner is essentially constructed inside out, displaying how the model’s suede and mesh uppers were layered. Other details include exposed stitching throughout, the manufacturer/size tag on the tongue labels and inverted branded heel tabs to reflect the inside out theme. Finally, black accents all over, a sail midsole and grey outsole tops off the design.
