Riccardo Tisci has gotten together with NikeLab to release two new collaborative colorways of the Nike Air Force 1 High.

Coming in two color options of either White or Black, each pair is constructed out of all leather uppers with red and blue detailing. Tisci had this to say about the Air Force 1, “I’m obsessed with the shoe,” he says. “It’s very clean and pure, but at the same time elaborate. It’s the shoe that best represents my style and my collaboration with Nike,” he says. The shoes comes with red, white and blue ankle straps, stars on the ankle, and Nike x RT patches on the toe.

In Tisci’s eyes, basketball players don’t just provide style inspiration, they’re heroes. This latest Nike collaboration plays off this idea with another series of graphics: logos for a fictional team, the Victorious Minotaurs, which gives him the opportunity to envision the collection as part of a true off-court uniform.

“In the 90s, basketball players became kind of like rock stars,” he says. “But now, they are more than rock stars. They’re superhuman — representative of historic mythology.”

The Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab Air Force 1 High collection launches October 12 in North America, October 20 in Paris and October 21 globally at NikeLab stores and nike.com/nikelab.
