Nike takes it back to its origins with this new iteration of the Nike ZoomX VaporFly NEXT% 2. Taking it back to 1972 (The swoosh was introduced in 1972, the same year that Phil Knight’s running-shoe company, Blue Ribbon Sports, changed its name to Nike), this Nike ZoomX VaporFly NEXT% 2 is constructed out of an engineered mesh upper replacing the previous model’s Vaporweave material. Its traditional ZoomX cushioned midsole comes equipped with a full-length carbon plate for propulsion. This pair dons a “72” stamped on the lateral heel of the left shoe nodding to that important year.
