If you watched the NBA Summer League or at the very least some highlight’s from Summer League then you probably heard the name Dennis Smith Jr. once or twice. Drafted 9th overall by the Dallas Mavericks, the North Carolina native has shown flashes of the special talent he can evolve into thanks in large part to his explosive athleticism. Under Armour has just announced that they have signed Dennis Smith Jr. to a multi-year partnership.

“I am definitely excited to be a part of team Under Armour as I get ready to go into camp for my rookie year,” said Smith Jr. “Under Armour is an explosive brand in basketball right now, and I’m excited to join Stephen, Seth and the team at UA in making our mark together. UA does it right in making footwear that helps all athletes get better, and that’s what I’m aiming for, to grow and get better and put my stamp on the league with UA.”

Smith Jr. has had a sterling history with Under Armour Basketball throughout his high school career, especially as part of the Elite 24 – playing in the Brooklyn showcase game in 2014 – and Stephen Curry’s annual SC30 Select Camp, where he worked and trained directly with Curry and was crowned the 1 on 1 Champion in 2015.

Under Armour adds Smith Jr. to a basketball roster that features two-time NBA MVP and NBA Champion Stephen Curry, new Dallas teammate Seth Curry, fellow 2017 draftees Josh Jackson and Terrance Ferguson, Atlanta’s Kent Bazemore and Denver’s Emmanuel Mudiay and Will Barton.
