In addition to the Nike Air Max 90, Nike will also be releasing an Air VaporMax Plus to honor the legendary Ken Griffey Jr. This new colorway of the Nike Air VaporMax Plus draws inspiration from Griffey’s “Spider-Man” catch which took place on May 25, 1991 when Griffey robbed Ruben Sierra of extra bases.

The VaporMax Plus starts off with a White neoprene construction on the upper with the signature plastic overlays on the side panels done in Black. More black then hits the laces, tongue, toe, inner liner, heel and the midsole. To break up the black and white look we see red stitching on the collar and teal accents on the midsole, tongue, and heel pull tab.

A spider graphic on the insoles, Griffey’s number “24” on the heel pull tabs, a translucent VaporMax sole unit, and a Gold home base hang tag with Griffey’s “Swingman” logo wrap things up. This Nike Air VaporMax Plus will be making its way to select retailers in the coming weeks. Make sure you keep it locked to Kicks On Fire for updates.
