Converse, retailer UNION, and New York-based interior designer Sheila Bridges have joined forces for a new collaboration.

Sheila’s iconic Harlem Toile, which depicts scenes of African American culture and lampoons common stereotypes, is brought to life by Converse and Union in a unique collaboration of apparel and accessories, including a pullover hoodie, bucket hat and Chuck Taylor All Stars. The iconic upper of the Chuck Taylor serves as base for Bridges’ design. Printed against a white canvas upper, the Chuck Taylor’s paneling allows each scene to play out across the silhouette. Bridges’ celebrated visual, the Harlem Toile, was born out of a desire to create a pattern that spoke to her personally and draws from her experiences living in Harlem.

With the aim of making the widely celebrated Harlem Toile more accessible to the next generation of Black creatives, the Chuck Taylor All Star capsule was created as part of Converse’s ongoing commitment to support Black creatives by amplifying their voices.

The Union x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, pullover hoodie and bucket hat will be available from $40-$100 at and select retailers on beginning October 13, 2020.
